Steps
- Drain the coolant and remove the skid plate
Disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the skid plate's 10mm bolts, then drain the coolant into a pan.
- Move the intake aside
Remove the name plate's two 10mm nuts and the hose clamp's 10mm bolt, loosen the intake tube's two hose clamps and disconnect the air sensor, then swing the intake aside.
- Remove the old fan and shroud
Disconnect the radiator hose and overflow tube, remove the shroud's lower two bolts and loosen its upper bolts, then holding the fan steady with a 12mm wrench, remove its remaining bolts (threading one back on backward and wedging a screwdriver against the assembly to brace it for the last one) and lift the fan and shroud out together.
- Install the new fan and shroud
Insert them together, fit the four shroud bolts and four fan nuts and torque them to about 15-16 ft-lb, then reconnect the radiator hose, its clamps and the overflow tube.
- Reinstall the intake and skid plate
Refit the intake hose and tighten its clamps and bolt, reconnect the name plate and air sensor, tighten the drain plug, then refit the skid plate and its bolts.
- Refill the coolant
Fill to the recommended amount, reconnect the battery, run the engine to operating temperature, let it cool, then recheck and top off the level.
