Replace a headlight bulb or the full headlight assembly on a 2000-2004 Subaru Outback.
Tools you will need
- Ratchet
- 10mm socket
Parts and supplies
- Headlight bulb
- Headlight assembly
Steps
- Remove the old headlight
Remove its three 10mm bolts, pull the assembly out, then unplug its wiring harness. To just swap a bulb, twist off the plastic cover instead to access it.
- Install the new assembly
Plug in the wiring harness, then bolt the headlight in with the 10mm socket.
Check your vehicle’s repair manual for exact specifications and fit.
