How to Replace Spark Plugs 91-08 Lincoln Town Car

Replace the spark plugs on a 1991-2008 Lincoln Town Car, one coil and plug at a time.
Tools you will need
- Ratchet
- Socket extensions
- 8mm wrench
- 7mm socket
- 5/8 inch spark plug socket
- Spark plug gapping tool

Steps
- Disconnect the battery
Disconnect the negative terminal with an 8mm wrench.
- Remove a coil and its spark plug
Remove the single 7mm bolt holding the coil, unplug its wiring harness, then unscrew the spark plug underneath with a 5/8 inch spark plug socket.
- Install the new plug and refit the coil
Gap the new plug with a gapping tool to the spec on the under-hood decal, thread it in, then plug the coil back into the harness and bolt it down, repeating this and the previous step for each remaining cylinder one at a time.
- Reconnect the battery
Reconnect the negative terminal.
