How to Replace Cabin Air Filter 06-18 Toyota RAV4

Replace the cabin air filter behind the glove box on a 2006-2012 Toyota RAV4.

Steps

1. Remove the glove box

   Open it, pry its retaining tabs loose on each side, disconnect its damper, then lower it off its hinges.

2. Remove the old filter

   Press the housing cover's tab to release it, then pull the old filter out.

3. Fit the new filter

   Slide it in with its airflow arrow pointing down, then fit the cover's tab into its slot and press it closed.

4. Reinstall the glove box

   Set its hooks onto the hinge studs, close it partway to engage the retaining tabs, reconnect the damper, then close it fully and test.
