Difficulty: Intermediate · About 45 min · Nissan Titan
Replace a headlight bulb or the full headlight assembly on a 2008-2015 Nissan Titan.
Tools you will need
- Ratchet
- Socket extensions
- Flat blade screwdriver
- 8mm socket
- 10mm socket
- Needle-nose pliers
Parts and supplies
- Headlight bulb
- Headlight assembly
Steps
- Remove the grille
Twist and pry its clips loose on both sides and along the bottom with a screwdriver, pull both sides out, then release its harness and pull the grille free.
- Remove the old headlight
Remove the two Phillips screws under the fender and pull the panel back to reach two 10mm bolts, remove the headlight's two 8mm top bolts, then disconnect its harness and pull it up and out.
- Service the headlight if swapping just a bulb
Lift the harness tab to free it, twist the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it, fit the new bulb and twist clockwise to lock it, then reconnect the harness. For a full assembly swap instead, push its clips aside with a screwdriver and remove the mounting bracket's clips with pliers.
- Install the new assembly
Clip the bracket to the new headlight, line up its pins and push it straight back into place, reconnect the harness, refit the washers, then tighten the 8mm top bolts and the 10mm bolts under the fender before refitting that access panel.
- Reinstall the grille
Push the clips back into the grille by their top and bottom tabs, line them up, then push the grille back into place.
