Perform an oil and filter change on a 2007-2010 Hyundai Elantra, including draining, filling and rechecking the level.

- Oil filter wrench
- 17mm wrench
- Drain pan

Steps
- Drain the old oil
Pull the dipstick to check the old oil's condition, then raise the car if needed, remove the 17mm drain plug and let the oil drain into a pan, and spin off the old filter counterclockwise with a filter wrench.
- Fill with fresh oil and filter
Coat the new filter's gasket with fresh oil, thread it on by hand then snug it another quarter to half turn, reinstall the drain plug and torque it to about 30 ft-lb, add 4.2 quarts of the specified 5W-20 oil through the filler, then run the engine briefly and recheck the level on the dipstick, topping off as needed.
