Replace the alternator and A/C compressor drive belt on a 1992-1996 Toyota Camry.
Tools you will need
- Ratchet
- Socket extensions
- 13mm socket
- 14mm socket
- 10mm wrench
Parts and supplies
- Alternator/AC drive belt
Steps
- Disconnect the battery and loosen the belt
Disconnect the negative battery cable, then loosen the 14mm bolt and the 13mm bolt at the bottom of the alternator just enough to swing it and slacken tension, and pull the old belt free.
- Fit the new belt
Loop the new belt into place, pull the alternator back to tension it, tighten the 14mm and 13mm bolts, then reconnect the battery.
