Replace a spark plug, including the ignition coil above it, on a 1999-2004 Honda Odyssey.
Tools you will need

- Socket extensions
- Flat blade screwdriver
- T40 socket
- 5/8 inch spark plug socket
- 10mm socket
Parts and supplies
- Spark plug
Steps
- Remove the old spark plug
Remove the engine cover's 10mm bolts and take it off, give the panel above the plug wires a quarter turn to release its clips, disconnect the harness on the cylinder you're working on, remove the T40 bolt, lift out the ignition coil, then unscrew the spark plug with a 5/8 inch socket.
- Install the new plug and reassemble
Check the gap with a gapping tool, thread the new plug in and torque it to about 10-15 ft-lb, refit the ignition coil and its T40 bolt, reconnect the harness, refit the panel and turn its clips back, then repeat for each remaining cylinder before closing up the engine cover.
Check your vehicle’s repair manual for exact specifications and fit.
