Steps
- Remove the air intake
Disconnect the PCV and breather hoses, loosen the two intake clamps with a screwdriver, then pull the intake assembly out.
- Move the coolant bottle and power steering reservoir aside
Disconnect the hose from the radiator fill, remove the coolant bottle's two 10mm bolts and lift it out, then remove the power steering reservoir's single 8mm bolt.
- Remove the upper fan shroud
Remove the 10mm bolts at each end of the shroud, slide back the hose clamp and disconnect the coolant hose from the radiator, then pull the shroud up and out.
- Remove the fan and clutch
Unplug the fan connector, remove the sensor's 8mm bolt and move it aside, hold the water pump pulley with a wrench, then remove the 36mm clutch nut and spin the clutch off.
- Separate the fan from the old clutch and fit the new one
Remove the fan's four 10mm bolts, push the old clutch out, press the new clutch into the fan, then torque its four bolts to about 62 inch-pounds.
- Reinstall the fan and clutch
Fit the fan back onto the water pump shaft, hold the pulley steady, tighten the 36mm nut, then reconnect the sensor.
- Reinstall the shroud, reservoirs and intake
Set the shroud back into place and tighten its 10mm bolts, reconnect the coolant hose, tighten the power steering reservoir's bolt, refit the coolant bottle and its bolts and hose, then refit the intake assembly, its clamps and hoses.
- Top off the coolant
Fill the coolant to the correct level and run the engine to check for leaks.
