Steps
- Remove the wheel
Loosen the 19mm lug nuts with the car on the ground, then raise and support it and pull the wheel.
- Remove the old pads
Push the pistons back with a screwdriver, remove the two 14mm slide pin bolts, swing the caliper aside, pry the pads off, then slide out their mounting slides.
- Remove the rotor
Remove the caliper bracket's 14mm bolts and pull it off, then pull the rotor off, striking its hub area with a hammer, or threading M10 bolts into its puller holes, if it's stuck.
- Clean everything before fitting new parts
Scrub the pad slides with a wire brush and brake cleaner, then clean the new rotor's surface with brake cleaner too.
- Fit the new rotor and bracket
Slide the rotor on, back off the parking-brake adjuster wheel through the rotor so the shoes don't drag, refit the bracket, and torque its 14mm bolts, coated in copper anti-seize, to spec.
- Install the new pads
Grease the pad tabs, seat the new pads in the bracket, compress the piston with a C-clamp against an old pad, refit the caliper, then tighten the slide pin bolts.
- Reinstall the wheel
Torque the lug nuts to about 89 ft-lb in a crossing pattern.
- Test the brakes and parking brake
Pump the pedal until firm, then work the parking brake lever up and down until it holds with resistance before driving.
