Steps
- Remove the wheel
Loosen the lug nuts with the car on the ground, then raise and support the car and pull the wheel.
- Remove the old caliper, pads and rotor
Turn the rotor for access, compress the caliper piston with a screwdriver, remove the 14mm caliper bolts and pry the caliper off, securing it out of the way with a wire tie, then remove the pads and the 18mm caliper bracket bolts before knocking the rotor loose with a hammer.
- Clean and reassemble with new parts
Clean the rotor with brake cleaner, scrub the bracket with a wire brush and bolt it to the new rotor, dab anti-seize on the new pads' edges where they ride in the bracket, fit them in, finish compressing the piston with a C-clamp and a block of wood, check that the slide pins move freely, then mount the caliper and torque its bolts to about 30 ft-lb and the bracket bolts to about 80 ft-lb.
- Reinstall the wheel
Torque the lug nuts to about 100 ft-lb in a star pattern.
