Steps
- Remove the wheel
Loosen the lug nuts, then raise and support the car and pull the wheel.
- Remove the old brakes
Unbolt the two 10mm caliper bolts, compress the pistons with a screwdriver and pull the caliper off, pry the old pads out, then back off the parking brake adjuster through the rubber plug behind the hub (penetrating oil helps free it up), and pry outward on the rotor while tapping it with a hammer to break it loose.
- Install the new brakes
Clean the new rotor with brake cleaner before fitting it, readjust the parking brake adjuster, dab anti-seize on the new pads' edges before seating them in the caliper, work the caliper back onto the rotor, then torque its two 10mm bolts to about 20 ft-lb.
- Reinstall the wheel and bed the brakes in
Torque the lug nuts to about 100 ft-lb, pump the pedal a few times to reseat the pistons, then do a couple of gentle 5-10 mph stops in the driveway before a full road test.
