How to Replace Cabin Air Filter 10-19 Subaru Outback

Replace the cabin air filter behind the glove box on a 2010-2019 Subaru Outback.

Steps

1. Open the glove box and reach the filter

   Pull out the actuator tab on the side of the glove box, squeeze both sides of the box in, lower it out of the way, then press the tabs and remove the filter housing door, sliding the old filter out slowly.

2. Fit the new filter and close up

   Insert the new filter with its airflow arrow pointing down, press the housing cover back onto its four tabs, hook the glove box's upper tabs in and press it closed, then reconnect the actuator tab on its side.
