Tools you will need
- Trim removal tool
- 10mm socket
- Ratchet
- T20 Torx driver
- Drain pan
- Flat blade screwdriver
Parts and supplies
- Washer-fluid reservoir
- Washer fluid
Steps
- Remove the front bumper cover
Release the top and lower plastic retainers, the wheel-liner retainers and bolts, and the T20 fasteners underneath. Unplug fog lamps if fitted, then pull the cover forward carefully.
- Drain and remove the pump
Place a drain pan below the bottle. Disconnect the pump plug and ease the pump from its reservoir grommet, allowing the washer fluid to drain.
- Remove the old reservoir
Separate the fill neck, wiring clips and washer hoses from the bottle. Remove the two mounting nuts and one bolt, then lift the reservoir off its studs.
- Fit the replacement bottle
Align the new reservoir with its mounting studs and secure the nuts and bolt. Reattach the hose and wiring clips to their original routes.
- Reconnect the pump and fill neck
Seat the pump in its grommet and reconnect its plug. Push the fill neck onto the bottle and secure its plastic retainer.
- Refit the bumper cover
Align the cover and engage its tabs, then reinstall the wheel-liner, top and underside fasteners. Reconnect any fog lamps before the cover is fully secured.
- Fill and test
Add washer fluid, close the cap and operate the washers. Check around the pump, hoses and bottle for leaks before finishing.
Check your vehicle’s repair manual for exact specifications and fit.
