Replace the battery, including cleaning the tray, on a 2005-2011 Honda Civic.

- Rust penetrant
- 10mm wrench

Steps
- Remove the old battery
Soak the hold-down bolts in penetrant, disconnect the negative then positive terminals with a 10mm wrench, loosen the hold-down nuts with a 10mm socket, unhook the hold-down from the tray, pull off the plastic cover, then lift the battery and its tray out and clean the tray with soapy water.
- Install the new battery
Refit the tray, lower the battery onto it, fit the cover with its opening facing forward, hook the hold-down onto the tray, tighten its nuts, then reconnect the positive terminal followed by the negative, tightening each bolt with the 10mm wrench.
