How to Check Engine Air Filter 10-16 Cadillac SRX

Check and, if needed, replace the engine air filter on a 2010-2016 Cadillac SRX.

Steps

1. Open the air filter housing

   Unplug the MAF sensor connector and free its wiring clip from the housing cover, loosen the intake tube's hose clamp with a flat blade screwdriver and disconnect the tube, then release the housing cover's clamps and lift the cover to expose the filter.

2. Inspect, swap if needed, and close it back up

   Hold the filter up to the light to check how clogged it is, replace it if it's dirty, then set the cover back on, snap its clamps shut, reconnect the intake tube and tighten its clamp, and plug the MAF sensor connector back in.
