Perform an engine oil change on a 1998-2006 Suzuki XL-7.
Tools you will need
- Floor jack
- Jack stands
- Ratchet
- 17mm socket
- Oil filter wrench
- Drain pan
- Funnel

Steps
- Drain the old oil
Raise the car and support it, remove the 17mm drain plug into a pan, let it drain, then reinstall and tighten the plug.
- Remove the old filter
Spin it off with an oil filter wrench and wipe the area clean.
- Fit the new filter
Coat its rim with a layer of fresh oil, then thread it into place.
- Fill with fresh oil
Fill the recommended amount through a funnel, replace the cap, start the engine briefly, then shut it off and check the level on the dipstick.
