Replace an ignition coil on a 2000-2004 Ford Focus.
Tools you will need
- Ratchet
- Socket extensions
- T25 Torx socket
- Dielectric grease
- Marker

- Ignition coil
Steps
- Remove the old coil
Confirm the new coil matches, mark each wire with its cylinder number, disconnect the wires, remove the four T25 bolts, unplug the electrical connector, then pull the coil out.
- Install the new coil
Set it in place, secure its four T25 bolts, reconnect the connector, dab dielectric grease on each wire's boot, then reconnect the wires to their marked terminals.
