How to Replace Headlight Bulbs 11-17 Toyota Camry
Difficulty: Easy · About 15 min · Toyota Camry
Replace accessible front headlight, turn-signal or marker bulbs on a 2011–2017 Toyota Camry without removing the complete headlamp. Identify the failed position and confirm its bulb specification for your year and trim first.
Tools you will need
- Gloves
Parts and supplies
- Replacement light bulb
Steps
- Identify and disconnect the failed bulb
Switch the lights off, open the hood and locate the socket behind the failed lamp. Release the wiring connector by its tab; pull the connector body, not its wires.
- Remove the headlight bulb
For the bulb shown first in the video, turn the socket counterclockwise, align its tabs and withdraw it. Compare the removed bulb and socket with the replacement before installing.
- Install and test the headlight bulb
Keep bare fingers off the glass of a halogen bulb. Align the socket tabs, turn clockwise until seated, reconnect the harness and test the lamp.
- Use the same socket method for the other beam
If the other headlight beam is the failed one, release its connector, turn its socket counterclockwise, change the matching bulb, then lock the socket and reconnect it.
- Change a signal or marker bulb if needed
For a front turn signal or marker lamp, twist out its socket, pull the bulb straight out and press the matching new bulb into the socket. Lock the socket back in place, reconnect it and check the correct light function.
Check your vehicle’s repair manual for exact specifications and fit.
