How To Replace Battery 98-04 Dodge Intrepid

Replace the battery, including moving the air intake box out of the way, on a 1998-2004 Dodge Intrepid.

Steps
- Remove the old battery
Disconnect the negative cable with a 15mm wrench, loosen the intake hose clamp and pop the air intake box's retaining pin to lift it out of the way, disconnect the positive cable with a 13mm wrench, remove the two 10mm hold-down bolts, then push the fender liner aside and lift the battery out.
- Install the new battery
Seat it and refit the hold-downs and their 10mm bolts, reconnect the positive cable and tighten its 13mm bolt, reconnect the negative cable and tighten its 15mm bolt, then refit the air intake box and tighten its hose clamp.
