- Ratchet

- 21mm socket
- Rust penetrant
- Torque wrench
Parts and supplies

Steps
- Remove the wheel
Loosen the lug nuts, then raise and support the car and pull the wheel.
- Remove the old strut
Soak every nut and bolt in penetrating oil, remove the two 21mm bolts at the bottom of the strut, jack up the control arm under the ball joint for clearance, then remove the three 13mm bolts at the top and work the strut out.
- Install the new strut
Fit it into place and bolt in the top 13mm bolts, bolt in the bottom bolts (a few taps with a hammer can help seat them), torque the bottom bolts to about 95 ft-lb and the top ones to about 35 ft-lb, then refit the wheel and torque the lug nuts to about 75 ft-lb in a star pattern.
Check your vehicle’s repair manual for exact specifications and fit.
