Steps
- Free the air-box cover
Release the cover clips and loosen the intake-hose clamp. Pull the hose away, unplug the airflow sensor and remove the four 10mm bolts that hold its housing.
- Transfer the airflow sensor
Lift the sensor housing from the old cover and attach it to the replacement cover with its four bolts. Protect the sensor opening from dirt while the intake is apart.
- Remove the intake duct
Take out the plastic retainers for the upper panel and intake duct, then lift the duct clear to expose the lower air box.
- Lift out the old box
Remove the lower housing bolt, take out the air filter and release the remaining clips. Pull the old box from its locating points.
- Install the lower housing
Seat the new box on its locating pins, fasten the 10mm bolt and place the filter correctly inside the housing.
- Reconnect the cover and intake
Engage the cover tabs and clips. Reattach the intake hose, tighten its clamp and reconnect the airflow-sensor plug.
- Restore the duct and test
Refit the duct and upper panel with their plastic clips. Check that the intake is sealed, then start the engine and check for loose connections or warning lights.
